Putin claims that the Wagner Group "simply does not exist"

35 Wagner officers, including the group's leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, were present at a Kremlin gathering that Russian President Vladimir Putin disclosed on Thursday for the first time.

The conference took place on June 29, just a few days after Wagner soldiers rebelled briefly against Moscow.

"On the one hand, I evaluated their actions during the conflict (in Ukraine) and on the other, their actions during the events of June 24 at the conference. Thirdly, I presented them with several avenues for their continued service, including how they may apply their combat expertise. It ended there."

If Wagner would be kept as a combat unit, Putin was asked during an interview with Russian daily Kommersant.

"Wagner PMC doesn't actually exist, though. Putin yelled. There is no law governing private military companies in our country! Simply said, it doesn't exist."

Putin said, "There is no such legal body.

Although the group is real, it is not real legally. In the interview, Putin reiterated. "This relates to the real legalization, but it is a different problem. But the State Duma and the administration ought to talk about this issue. It's a challenging question.

Putin claimed to have presented the 35 Wagner commanders with a variety of job opportunities, including one under the direction of their direct commander, known by the call sign Sedoy (Grey hair), who the Wagner fighters had battled for the previous 16 months.

Nothing would have changed for them if they had all congregated in one location and carried on serving, according to Putin.
